Healthy eating tips

1. Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water a day.

2. Avoid highly processed foods

3. Eat as many organic foods as possible – food that has not been exposed to pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, waxes and ripening-retardant chemicals

4. Eat a variety of foods – to increase nutrient consumption and minimize repeated exposure to pesticides and food toxins

5. Do not use plastic wrap in microwave ovens – they leach petroleum based chemicals into food

6. Use alternatives to cow’s milk – ie. rice, almond, oat, and soy milk

7. Substitute brown or wild rice for white rice

8. Substitute brown rice pasta for white pasta

9. Stay away from genetically modified (GMO) and irradiated foods

10. Stay away from foods with ingredients such as partially hydrogenated or hydrogenated oils

11. Avoid products containing, artificial ingredients including, artificial colour, artificial sweeteners, sucrose, fructose, maltose, dextrose, sorbitol, sugar, nitrites, nitrates and sulfites

12. Increase your consumption of raw produce

13. Avoid overcooking your food
